Cube shelving Photo: Handyman

 CUBE SHELVING
Gema covered the inside of this shelving unit with wallpaper to transform it into a designer piece.

‘If the bookcase has a veneer, melamine or lacquer finish like this one then PVA adhesive won’t hold the wallpaper and you’ll need to use a contact adhesive. For a cheaper fix use double-sided tape although it won’t hold the edges as neatly.’

●1 CUT THE PAPER as one piece to cover three sides of each cube.

●2 POSITION THE PAPER in the cube to crease the corners with a metal rule and fold the sides into the centre, printed sides facing in.

●3 APPLY CONTACT ADHESIVE on the base of the cube and the centre square of paper. It grabs immediately so glue the centre first then each side.

●4 COVER THE TOP of each cube with a square of wallpaper.
