Trapped by chores? Make a clean getaway with these:
Living Room. To remove dust, use a fabric softener sheet on a TV or computer screen. Rub rubber-gloved hands on sofas to remove pet hair.
Kitchen. To deodorise and clean goo in the microwave, heat up a wet dishcloth (spritzed with lemon) for 40 seconds. The steam will soften the mess and you can wipe it away easily.
Bathroom. Spray shaving cream on your mirror. Let it sit for about a minute, then wipe off. Your mirror will be fog-free for more than a week.
- To clean tiles and glass doors, and to keep mildew at bay, rub on vinegar and water, squeegee dry, then buff with a microfibre cloth.
- Fill a spray bottle with bleach or vinegar, and squirt under the rim of your toilet bowl. Leave overnight. Next morning, simply flush toilet.
Laundry. For a small load, throw in one or two dry towels in the dryer to absorb the moisture. For mud stains, rub them with a raw potato. Soak clothes in cool water, then wash as usual.
