Find the tools, compounds and tapes in the plasterboard section of the hardware store.

TO FINISH smooth with 150 grit plasterboard abrasive paper precut to fit a hand sander. Seal with plasterboard sealer, apply an undercoat then paint to match the wall.
 
TIP A slightly damaged wall can be skim-coated using thin layers of jointing compound with fi breglass tape.
