This is a very touching story. I am a traveller myself and sometimes I admit that I am not a very charitable person. I don't look at the eyes of a beggar and shuts my ears to their pleading. I often say, "If I give them a dime, it wouldn't change their condition anyway." Now I realize, maybe it's not the money that matters. If I do help them buy a meal and smile at the same time, for a second it will make them feel that life isn't that bad. And people genuinely care. |
| BUDDY L. ACUB on September 08 2010 at 10:14:59 PM Hi Cathy I like your very touching story. It's indeed true that there are still lots of the have-nots of present world who could surprise us with their big, hearty love of giving even their last mites. Remember the story in the New Testament on how Jesus commended the poor widow of her great love of giving all what she had? The rich give, out of their excesses. But the poor, all of their living. Thanks. |
