Flying on Friday 13

It maybe superstition, but would you board flight 666 without a second thought?

Would you board a flight listed on the departures board as: 666 to HEL on Friday 13th? That’s what travellers faced when flying from Copenhagen to Helsinki last September – and will face again this month. While Friday the 13th is considered bad luck in many Western cultures, 666 is mentioned in the Bible as being the devil’s number, so this flight has added bite!

To ease in-flight tensions, airlines such as Continental Airlines, Air France, British Airlines and KLM have removed aisle 13 from their planes. Many airlines insist aisle rows numbered 13 are removed due to rearranging and managing new aircraft, so maybe it’s not all due to superstition.

Either way, just in case you’re wondering, flight 666 to HEL landed safely.
