Can you guess some of the most common gender neutral baby names?

If you’ve seen an increase in names like Blake and Jamie, it’s not just a coincidence. According to a new study from background check company BeenVerified, gender-neutral baby names are more popular than ever before. In fact, they accounted for almost 15% of given baby names in the US in 2022. With gender-neutral baby names becoming more and more common, these are the ones that made a splash in 2022.
How were the top gender-neutral baby names determined?

While BeenVerified clarifies that ‘few names are truly gender neutral’ ratios of names change over time. To determine the top gender-neutral baby names, the company analysed the Social Security Administration’s annual baby name list.
Every year, the Social Security Administration releases a list of names from the year before. BeenVerified used the list to rank which names had the closest 50-50 ratios by gender in 2022. The company also used previous lists to determine gender-neutral names from 1923-2022.
