Although there is no cure for hypothyroidism, it can become more or less severe over time. You may have to take medication for the rest of your life, and you’ll need to work closely with your doctor to monitor your dosage as you alternate from hypo- and hyperthyroid states. The good news is with proper medication and monitoring your symptoms should lessen and the effects of Hashimoto’s disease improve.
