Sunway International School (SIS) are part of Sunway Education Group (SEG), a pioneer of private education in Malaysia more than 30 years ago. Owned and governed by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, SEG institutions cover the full range of educational programmes from kindergarten to university doctoral studies for both Malaysian and international students.

For many years, SIS has been gaining popularity with forward-thinking families who want to move away from rote learning and old-fashioned education methods and give their children the very best education and start in life. SIS is recognised for looking to the future and preparing students for jobs that do not exist today.

During the pandemic, SIS supported the school community with undisrupted online education, after-school activities and events. It also provided parents with resources to support their children. With the opening of the new campus, SIS Sunway City KL will then expand its offering to Kindergarten and Primary programmes as well, similar to its sister campus in Iskandar Puteri, Johor

The Sunway Education Group (SEG) is now firmly focused on the future, and 2023 marks an exciting period of expansion that will see its continue providing quality Canadian education to the future nation builders. The SEG has invested in a new seven-acre GreenRE Platinum certified Sunway International School (SIS) Sunway City KL campus, which will open its doors to visits at the end of 2022 with school commencing in January 2023.  “We are all excited for the new campus,” says Principal Kondro. “It is beyond a building – the new campus comes with improved facilities specific to courses, learning spaces purposefully built for all students’ learning journeys, and the expansion of course offerings.”

With the opening of a new campus, Sunway International Schools are introducing a new school logo by embracing the Coat of Arms used by Sunway University and Sunway College, in conjunction with the SIS campus in Kuala Lumpur approaching its 15th year and the 5th anniversary of the Iskandar Puteri campus.

“We believe adopting the same logo across Sunway University, College and schools will inspire students towards higher education,” says Dr Cheng Mien Wee, Executive Director of Sunway International Schools. “We trust this move will encourage students to set strong goals to study at Sunway College and Sunway University as well as other established institutions of higher learning.”

This move reflects the heart of Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah AO, Founding Trustee of the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, who continually contributes to society through quality education.

SIS are confident that people will see this bold adoption of the same values for Sunway International Schools, Sunway College and Sunway University as another unique testimony of Tan Sri Cheah’s progressive views and roles in education in Malaysia.

SIS also unveiled the new SIS website with a new URL (sunwayschools.edu.my). The new website provides SIS with a fresh and modern navigating experience, reflecting the school’s direction and identity, consistent with its growth and impact on education.

In tandem with the schools’ new logo and website, SIS is unveiling a fresh look for its school uniform for 2023 and beyond. The uniform design was selected after pooling ideas from the school community via the SIS Uniform Design Competition, just one of the many exciting community events taking place across the school community.

SIS is also keenly involved in the broader community. This focus is reflected in the events enjoyed this year, such as the SIS Coffee Talk Series, a free webinar series for families to learn more about their children’s education and development; the Sunway National Art Challenge, a nationwide art competition promoting the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals; and the Sunway National Poetry Slam, a long-running poetry competition supported by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
